Recording Vocals with Ableton Live 8

I was wondering if somebody could please give me advice on how to record vocals over a track in Ableton Live 8. The tracks I will be using are just instrumentals and are previously recorded, however I would like the end product to be a remix with my vocals in the original track. Basically, what is the easiest way to do this? Would I put the instrumental track into Audio 1 and record my vocals in Audio 2 or what? And then what can I do to put my vocals into the original track. I realize there are other easier softwares for recording vocals but this software is quality and I have seen a lot of cool tricks for vocals online that you can only do in Ableton.

Thanks for anyones help!!

your question is confusing, do you mean you have a song that already has vocals in it and you want to replace them with your own? or do you have a song which you want to add vocals too?

Play the instrumental track on Audio 1 and record your voice on audio 2.
When you have recorded your voice, play both tracks and set the volumes.
Go in the menu to 'file' and then 'export audio/video'. Rendered track has to be set to 'master'
This will create a new track that has both the instrumental and the vocals.

Hope this helps,
Mike
