Hi all, I'm new to the forum, so forgive me if this has been covered before.
My band has a song that has a bunch of wild and crazy vocal parts - screams, laughs, weird noises, etc. We want to give our fans a chance to record their own version of the crazy vocals.
I have created an instrumental track of the song. Now I am looking for a website where I can post the track and people can record their vocals over it and then save it on the site or export it as an audio file. Bonus points if it's easy to use (both for me and for the would-be vocalists).
I'm trying to avoid asking people to use garage band/audacity/etc - they may have trouble with the software or may decide not to do it because of the extra effort. I've done a ton of google searching so far, but no luck.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

They need to be able to record their vocal part on a separate track, otherwise you are going to be left with a hundred tracks of your song with people's parts on top of it, then you would have to try to line them all up exactly.

Yehp, that's right.

It's a difficult thing because really you need your fans to put on headphones then record themselves.

If you keep it simple and tell them to do just that, then you have no reference point. IE You don't know where they are in the song.

If that doesn't matter, then I'd just tell people to pop on headphones, play the song to themselves from a computer or whatever, then hit record on their iphone/sound recorder/soundcloud or whatever.

You could take note from Eric Whitacre's virtual choir. Have a version with a lead in and cue for when to put in the headphones/use as a sync cue. They send you the file and you can pop it in a mix.
