recording trouble

i just reinstalled windows (i never had this problem with cep2.0 before)

i reinstalled cool edit pro 2.0 and everything seems to run fine...

only when i put the music on track one and then try to record my vocals on track 2, the music from track 1 also gets recorded, i thought maybe my mic was just picking it up from the speakers...

but then i muted my mic and still it records the music from track one onto track 2... how can i get this to stop?

Check your Windows mixer. You probably "What You Hear" checked or something. You should only have "Line In" checked as an input.
