Hey everyone,
I have been trying to record some piano pieces using my Yamaha P60 hooked up straight to my computer (using the phones output and the line in on my soundcard). When I play, I can hear the sound come back perfectly through the speakers, yet when I play back what I have recorded, it is crackly, fuzzy, and distorted.
I plugged my guitar direct in in the same manner, and the recorded sound was perfect - so it must be something to do with the piano. Similarly, if I connect the P60 to my computer via my guitar FX chain (i.e. indirectly), then the sound is fine (but degraded due to all the connecters, pedals, etc)
I am reasonably experienced in recording, but I don't understand why the live sound is fine, and the recorded sound all messed up - does anyone know if there any known issues with recording using the P60?
Jonny
