Hey,

I am using pro-tools mpowered 8, and I was just wondering how I change the tempo 1/2 way through the song and then after that certain section go back to recording in the normal tempo.

For example I am recording at 180 bpm then I wanna record a breakdown at 160 bpm then once the breakdown is finished speed back up to 180. i have tried changing tempo in the metronome section but that slows the whole track down. any help would be much appreciated.

cheers

I haven't used protools in years, but in most DAWs you can highlight a section and change the tempo for that section. I also think Protools has a tempo automation that works just like volume automation for a section.

I also found this through google: "Pretty simple actually. In the edit window, select the bars you want to change, then click the "tempo ruler" to change for the selected bars.. Same procedure for time sig. if you dont have the rulers up goto "view" on the menu bar at the top and open them."

You pencil in a tempo change on the tempo bar thingy at the top of the sequencer window. You have to enable that view.

You should be able to use an envelope to transition in and out of the alternate tempo to, if desired.
