I'm sure a lot of you read sonusman's mixing tips over at the mixing/mastering board, so I was posting here to see if any of the veterans would be willing to help ot the youngins like me, with a post such as sonusman's, discussing issues such as mic placement and distance on drums, amps, ect. As well as types of mics to use, and which mcs give you he best bang for the buck so to speak.

this would be a great help to a lot of people I think.

thanks

Try doing a search on anything you would like to know. You should be able to find some info for what your looking for.

Check out " How does diaphram size/polar pattern relate to mic application?" posted by Chris F under mic form. Very nice responces by Harvey.

also Harvey has nice nice pictures at his website somewhere with pictures of micing positions of drums, amps, acoustic guitar.....let me see if I can dig it up.....

make a list of what applications you need exactly and how much $$$ you want to spend, what sources you will be recording simultaneously....Im the king of Bang for the Buck.....

also, are you doing just demo recording or are you looking for pro results?....
