recording synth

Hello, I am recording synthesiser straight into my computer. im using a smooth clean organ sound. but after i record it and play it back it has a really coarse fuzzy buzzing quality nothing like the sound used originally.

what's wrong?

check to make sure your using the "line in"
instead of the "mic in" on the sound card. The mic input can`t handle much of a signal without distorting and breaking up.
