Recording streaming audio off the web

I got a piece of software called Ableton Live (Delta) with my soundcard and want to have lots of cool clips to mix and match. Especially, I want to mix in a collage of talk voice clips from streaming audio and video.

What software would you guys recommend to use for recording directly off the web? Thanks.
 
you can do it with pretty much any program that recognizes your soundcard that came on your motherboard....or a standard "Best Buy" card in your PCI slot. Most of these consumer cards have a feature allowing you to change the record option to "What you here". Look around the options of your control panel in the Audio Control icon. This just monitors whatever goes out your speakers. Then set the program to record. Windows sound recorder should be able to do this too.
