Hey all, Just put together my new computer and am in need of a soundcard.

I do ocasional recording and would like for it to be able to record up to 3 guitars and a mic (xlr (although i have a 1/4 cable if needed, not sure if that will work well)). I also would like for it to have an output so that I can use speakers?

Any help??

Thanks

Dan

would an audiophile 2496 work? i also like the idea of midi as i have a midi keyboard.

But how many guitars would i be able to hook up? and is the mic possible...a quick explination would help too!

Thanks!

Dan

I'd go with the Delta 1010LT

More ins, more outs. MIDI, S/PDIF, 2 XLR inputs... Arguably, the most bang-for-the-buck out there.

Whats the lowest price you think i could get on this card? I really cant spend that much money and the Audiophile 2496 is exactly in my narrow price range.

I think 200 is absolute max max max. I know its not a lot but i have to work with what i can do. Sorry all....

Still need your help though!!

I know it's a rough call, but the 2496 just doesn't have enough I/O for your purposes.

I've seen the 1010TL NEW on e-bay for under $300... If you can find a slightly used one - OR contact M-Audio and see if they have any refurbs...

Cool John, I really like the 1010 but i need to get some more money first, i might go with that. Any other suggestions??

Look both ways before crossing the street. :)

Think about a mixer with as many direct/tape outs as possible if you don't already have one... It's going to come in handy at some point...
