Hi, all. First post on this site, so play nice, please
I'm currently doing this solo project and am keen on recording with ONLY analog.
I know a little about recording, but only from computer experience IE Ableton/FLS9 when I used to produce crappy dubstep, haha. I know all about mixing and mastering and what not, but when it comes to recording analog I'm stumped.
What I have going here sounds a little similar to both wild nothing and beach fossils,
(lo fi vocals over guitar with reverb, simple drums (snare and bass + 1 cymbal, really) )
Am keen on the guitar tone in summer holiday - wild nothing
And vocal tone in sometimes - beach fossils.
Anyway, I have no idea what gear I should have, how I go about setting up, etc.
I would like to keep this very very simple (recording wise) and relatively low-fi/quality so I'll be using second hand gear.
Please don't suggest anything too costly, uni already takes most of my money away
Basically, I am keen on getting a low-fi sound as cheap as possible.
Thank-you!
Corin.
