Spoken by a true audiofanzineist clown mofo, and to be truthful to everyone Berhringer is not anywhere close to being considered pro line anything so take kcearls words of advice. stay away!

So then I shouldn't look into getting a Behringer C-1U ? Because I heard some good stuff about it, and some bad. And its in my price range, which is 70$. But if this mic isn't going to get the job done and show results, then what the heck, might as well go a little bigger. Got any mics that are under 100$ that will get the job done?

There you have it... :) Thanks KC

Just like what I said to the other guy, (Sorry, I didn't remember his name and I don't want to go back and search it, my bad), but anyways, I was looking into getting a Behringer C-1U Microphone USB port. I've heard some good things about it and some bad things, but just like what I mentioned before. I am on a budget, and this Microphone costs only 70$. So, I mean, its good for me, but If it isn't going to give great results, then that's just a waste of 70$. Might as well save 30 more dollars and buy a better microphone. Do you have any suggestions on mics around 100$ or under that can give me the results I'm looking for? And I'm going to try and give a layout of what I want as a "Home Studio". Ill try and get it today. Thanks

So there pretty much useless with the recording business. I'm guessing you now a little something something about Interfaces, so here's a question. I want to record ONE person MAINLY rapping / singing / whatever they want to do, but probably just ONE person, maybe like TWO everyone 2 months, but that's probably it. Do you know a good audio interface for cheap that can get the job done? I am probably going to be using Reaper / Audacity to record so yeah. If that changes anything. And the Microphone, I was going to get a Behringer C-1U but I don't know if that's a good mic or not, it's just in my budget range. But if you can tell me another microphone under 100$, please list them. :) Thanks for your taking your time to help out a newbie. :)

MBox is an interface from Digidesign(?). An interface converts your analog audio signal to digital before going into your computer and/or from digital back to analog to go to your speakers. Your computer's soundcard can be considered an interface, though not a very good one.

You don't need an MBox as most any interface will do, so don't limit yourself. Here's a list I always recommend:

http://www.sweetwater.com/c695--USB_Audio_Interfaces/low2high

And another thing, for that site you gave me. Let me show you some that I will PROBABLY be able to afford:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Transit/
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Alpha/
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MultiMix4USB/

Hopefully these will do, HOPEFULLY. Haha. But yeah, out of those 3, if any of them will get the job done, can you list them in order which are the best to worse. Thanks.

Jin if at all you can avoid a usb mic the better it will be.

Yes get a real microphone and plug it into your interface.

And make sure to look back at the original post. I posted some pictures on how I want it to be like. Tell me what you guy think.

no probs..

a Sennheiser E835 can be bought for around $60 new....its dynamic so it doesnt need any phantom power..and its unlikely to be a chinese knock off as some of the shure dynamics are on ebay

forget the image of standing in front of a pop filter in a vocal booth belting out some number into a condenser...on your budget a dynamic will suffice...

as for interfaces try a line 6 UX1 like this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/Line-6-Pod-Stud...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eacb0eabe

it comes with a software package that has loads of vocal options including pre amp emulations and effects

I have nothing against behringer gear, I own a few but this particular interface is not what you want...and USB mics should be avoided...youd be better with a C3 and UB502 which will give you phantom power for less than $100 but you're still gonna need an interface to get it into the PC

hope this helps some :)

Sure does help me. But to be honest, I am most likely going to get a pop filter, well because it helps me not to get to close to the mic, you know? And all that stuff. And this Sennheiser E835 is a mic that can get the drop done? And say the Behringer is not USB, can that get the job done or nah. And the 6 UX1, can that be found in my local stores like Best Buy, Fries, maybe some Music shops? or is it only online. Thanks.

you dont need a pop filter with a dynamic mic...

Music stores should sell Line6 stuff...not best buy and the like

I cheap condenser will get the job done but not as well as a similarly priced dynamic...you're going to have to spend quite a bit more on a condenser mic to get as good results imo

Well I mean, wait huh? Haha theres a difference between a dynamic mic? I thought it was just the name. But now I get it I think. Like are Dynamic mics kinda like stage mics? I mean, to be honest, I kinda want a condenser mic but their like expensive. But if I have to, Ill go with the dynamic. But do you have any suggestions on some cheap / good condensers? And go to my original post and check out the layout of how I want it to be.

Earl to the rescue!! :D I had to run out for some ice cream and left him hanging.
Jin what ever KC tells you will be the gospel truth take his advice to get the job done.

Could of told me earlier. Geeze. Haha but yeah, alrighty then. Hes my leader. Haha.

no, not always. for example guitars, drums, even sometimes vocals are recorded in studios with dynamic mics. trust your ears, not the mic type.
But do you have any suggestions on some cheap / good condensers?
well.. there are cheap and bad mics. maybe you could get a used mic?

why is your heart set on a condenser?

I use cheap condensers for my guitars..Id never sing through one though..

and a dynamic mic is not a stage mic...its a mic period..thats a common misconception

you'll stand a better chance of getting a half decent recording out of one than anything else sub $100 trust me

at the end of the day its your decision JinsTa though

I understand, so Ill probably get the Dynamic at first, then we will see from there. So let me tell you my set-up and tell me what you think:

- That Dynamic Mic
- The Audio Interface you told me to get
- Reaper / Audaciy
Yeah thats about it. Can those create a well sounding mixtape?
