Recording several tracks with computer

I have experience with tape multitrack recording but not computer recording, I need some help here. I need to record drums using 3 or 4 tacks at the same time, everything else I can do seperate. I currently have a dell dimension 500 mhz 13.0 gig hard drive with 128 mb, cakewalk 7, soundforge xp and a sound blaster live card, which I learned from this site isn't very good for recording music. Will the ark direct pro work for this or does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? Does this sound like a good setup for Really good quality recording? Please help I can't wait to get started. Thanks.

Sounds to me like all you are missing is a decent sound card and mixer. If all you want is four channels for drums you can get by cheaper than this, but I decided to spend the extra dough and go for eight. I got a Wave 8*24 sound card and an Alesis Studio 12R mixer. That ran me $850. Its a good chunk of money but I dont forsee having to upgrade anytime soon.
