Today i recorded a guitar track on Cakewalk 9.0 , I am using an Aardvaark 20/20 card, when I played it back the first few seconds slowed down and sounded like a slurr....then it picked back up and performed normally the rest of the way through. Im using a 366 processor with 120 meg ram....the hard drive is within 500 meg of being full....is this a common symptom of an overloaded hdrive? or what? This never happened with my old PowerTracks software. Help, I new to Cakewalk ..Mike

Mike , I had similar problems when using CWA PA8 for the first time. Try enabling the 'Trigger and Freewheel' setting found in Opions / Audio . A good place to try is

mknight - do you defragment your hard drives? It's a good idea and can help a lot of problems.

Thanks guys....I changed the settings and will try recording again this weekend....John, I just defragged 8 days ago....but I also have cable modem running on this computer...wonder if that could be a problem. ??
I have noticed that my Powertracks program operates smoothly though it is not as full featured as ProAudio 9. ...so maybe these adjustments in settings will help..I will keep you all posted...thanks for the suggestions!!!!! Mike
