Hello there!
Only when I press the red key to start recording in Cubase 5, everything turns into a metallic sound, which drives me nuts. Any tip for this nasty effect?
More important question: When I record a track, this come also with the sounds of the previous tracks recorded. For example, I record bass guitar in track 4, but the result comes with the sound of the drums, voices and guitar recorded in tracks 1, 2 and 3.
Thank you in advance,
Alejo.

For the second problem, check your VST Input for that channel - you should be recording off your hardware input, not your monitors.

Come to think of it, that could be causing your metallic sound problem too.

Anyhow, make sure that the bass is the only thing on whatever it is you're using as your recording source - it's possible to record your monitors, or route your output to an input (a function of youre sound card's control software), but that's not what you'll usually want to do...

If your using a Sounblaster card make sure that you have "record what you hear" unchecked or it will include all previous audio on the new track.
