Ok...

I was fine.. until of course I nearly finish recording an entire song.

my setup is as follows..

guitar amp modeller pedal >>>> channel 1 of my Yamaha MG 10-2, I have the stereo outs on the mixer going into inputs 1 and 2 of my Delta 66. I am monitoring via the mixer with headphones, and I have a set of RCA cables going from the outs of the Delta 66 into the RCA stereo ins on the mixer.

Everything was going fine.. recording with Adobe Audition.

then all of a sudden when i only have 1 track armed for recording.. it not only records my guitar.. but all the other tracks previously recorded.

I cannot understand this at all..

Now, the only way I was able to finish up the song (still needs more.. but I don't feel like starting over tonight). was to take the RCA cables going into the mixer.. and plug them directly into my monitors, and then plugging my headphones into the monitors headphone jack.

I don't get it..

this just in...

looks as if it was bleeding over on all the tracks.. its just not noticeable on those unless you mute everything but that single track because I was "dead on".

so apparently, I do not have this setup correctly

how should i have this set up, so I can hear the previous recorded tracks, and my guitar through the headphones, and have it only record the guitar?

thats your problem i think..your monitors should be comming out of the deltas 1&2 outs.

so it should be :
guitar into mixer,
then mixers outs (preferably a dedicated out in your channel strip)to deltas in's,
then monitors out of the deltas 1&2 outs.

so like the image I have attached?

how would I put headphones into the picture. I would like to be able to record without having to have my monitors blasting. That and the fact that I want to be able to hear what I am playing.

its hard to tell your mixer in that picture but that does appear to be right.
and just use your headphone outs on the monitors as you normally would.

sort of

that setup works... somewhat.

I still cannot hear what I am playing while I am recording it.

it does record only what I play on the armed track.. but how do I monitor what is being played while recording?

Thanks for the help...

a quick scan of my manual told me exactly what to do. I forgot about the monitor mixer that comes with the Delta 66... Got it working just like I wanted.
