Recording Problem

I'm sure there is another bulletin about this already, but I did not find one. I just downloaded CEP but cannot record audio or hear anything. The bar runs, but no waves are drawn. I went to options to find where to change the sound card (Im just using my basic one) but could not find the option. Can anyone help me out?

And I record with other programs daily so its not the microphone or anything.

**Update: Actually I did just get it so that I can hear audio, but still no recording. Recording off of a microphone plugged directly into the computer. Any help?

did you turn the mic on in the windows mixer thing (double click the little speaker in the system tray)?

it might look different depending on which version you have, but you just have to add and subtract which devices and pick which one you want to use as default in cool edit pro 2.1.

It's also useful to trace the signal path and make sure that your inputs and outputs are selected (Options/Device Order/recording or playback) and that CEP recognizes your input device.

Put the input to left only if its a USB mic.

i'm sending on LINE IN input some music...
i would like to record it...
or choose MIC INPUT ?
