Hi guys,

I am starting my own recording inside my room with a small setup for right now. I have the following things :-

1) Behringer B1 Condenser Mic
2) Behringer - USB Audio Interface
3) High-End Recording PC

I have these 2 things with me but what other things I require to start my recording.

I have a budget of $100 (Yes i know, it is very low) but can't increase atleast for now.

Can you guys suggest me with the lowest price?

Looking forward for positive replies.

Download Reaper as your DAW (recording software) - it's free to try out.
You need headphones and monitors.
Do you have a mic stand? Cables?

I require 2 stands..and 1 more mic since I have my main mic already.

No i dont have headphones and monitors.

Can you guide me some which are in my budget?

which usb interface do you have
does it have preamps/ phantom power ?

samson headphone are a good cheap start i like mine alot and they are a fair price and sound good. in a pinch if you have a home stereo you could use it to monitor i use headphones and various other speakers to hear how my mixes translate to other equipment. try looking for used mic stands on craigs list or what ever used sale sites are in your area. Also an sm57 is a good second mic for you as its pretty versatile from guitar cabs to acoustics and some even use them on vocals. these can be picked up used pretty cheap as well. just a fair warning since your getting into this recording game its addictive and 100 bucks isnt gunna last long

As far as headphones go, any cheap £5 pair will do for tracking and if you have a stereo, as one guy says, it'll do until you begin to have some idea of what you're doing. It's unlikely that you'll stop at a $100 set up but keep looking around this site (use the search function), with free stuff and good advice, you can certainly get your toes wet.

The essentials of what you need depend on what you are recording. I.E if you wanna record just acoustic stuff, then you might think about acoustic treatment, if you wanna record drums - more mics, if you are interested in midi/orchestral then start investing in VST, or a midi controller....
What are you planning on recording?

Monitoring some say is the first thing to get and something to think about. a $25 garage sale amplifier and speakers will become a good playback (or nowadays even some pc speakers are cheap)...there's some great 70's stuff out there for cheap used. great amplifiers...a couple speakers and your good for awhile. I've heard great mixes done on this stuff.

but some active KRK or something would be nice too....but thats over your budget....so never mind

headphones, good for tracking...I think MoreMe headphones are cheapest.

just to get the basic ability to track and mix and burn a cd, you sound like you've got it pretty much covered.
