Hi,
Im trying to record stuff on my sisters Powerbook... Im just NOT a mac user! So she has Garage band but I dont want to use that. I want software similar to Adobe Audition but there isnt Audition for Mac is there? Do you know any similar software I can use? Also how do I monitor my mic on Mac? You know so I can hear myself through my headphones?

thanks in advanced! :D

Recording software for Mac:

Cubase
Logic
Pro Tools
Deck

At lease, these are the only programs I've used. There are a couple others.
GarageBand is fine for basic recording if you have enough RAM.

Once you find some software, then we can talk about monitoring.

You left off a biggie: Digital Performer.

That said, to the original poster, why don't you want to use GB?
