Recording Noise on br1600

I love my 1600 However, it seems on the latest recording i've done, i hear (on the cd) the noise of the hard disk on the cd. Is there a way i can eliminate (it must be the mic) this annoying noise
 
I have found that some times covering my 1680 with something as simple as thick matte of sorts is enough to eliminate most, if not all, HD noise from making it to the mic.
 
Thank you very much!! So basically cover the whole unit and that should stop the sound, sounds easy enough.
