i have a presonus firepod and an assortment of mics and I am trying to get the best sound possible. Am I using the right mics on the right drums?

I have an Audix K6 - Kick drum
Shure SM57 - im usings these on snare, rack tom, and floor tom

pair of CAD GXL 1200's for overheads (Im getting terrible bleed into these of my kick, it is overpowering my cymbals)

CAD Equitek E 200 as my room mic

Are these ok for getting a decent recording? Im getting tons of bleed in the overheads that overpowers the cymbals.

Any suggestions on what to try? I am using Cubase SX 2.0

thanks!

Do the cymbals get overpowered with just the 2 overhead tracks running and eveything else muted?

Where did you place the overheads?

Do you understand stereo recording techniques like A-B and X-Y?
