Hi everybody,

I'm trying to record a MIDI file as a WAV file, so I can burn it to a CD. Is this possible? If so, please let me know how it can be done. (I'm using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9).

Thanks!

Me again...

Let me specifiy my question a little better...

I understand that I can record the MIDI sound live by arming an extra track to record MIDI sound into a WAV file. However, I'm not having much luck doing this because I can't figure out how to make it work in Pro Audio 9. I think what I need to know is what to set the track properties record to (what should I set the source to? the port? the channel?).

Thanks,
Sydney

Yes, you must record your MIDI tracks as wav (audio) before burning them to CD.

And this can be done in cakewalk.

First, where is the source of your MIDI? are you using MIDI sound fron your soundcard or sound module? What soundcard are u using?

I am making the assumption that you understand how to set your midi stuff up if you already have midi tracks ready to go.
Create an audio track and set the "In" field to your sound card (L,R or stereo).
Then mute the midi tracks you do not want recorded to audio.

Arm the audio track.
Record at will!
Also, don't forget to setup your windows mixer. Click here for instructions.

Good luck,

Thanks, Vice. I'm just starting to play with Home Studio, and I too am having problems recording my MIDI to audio. All I'm getting is hiss!
