recording mic on to mbox

hey guys, i think i have a problem with my mic, it's an AT3035, and when i plug it into the mbox and engage phantom power, no matter what i do, i can't seem to get a sound of it- any suggestions what i'm doing wrong? i've tried using mic, line and instr, the other input, nothing's working tho

I don't know if you are new to mbox or not, but I had this problem at first.

Shut down Pro Tools
Insert mic
Phantom or no
Then start Pro Tools

It doesn't like to have a mic plugged in while it is already running.
