There will be a level control on fones 90=pct of the time. Not too long ago, I needed a extra 3.5 stereo out at this computer and stuck a 6.3 to 3.5 adapter in the tape decks headphone jack and grabbed the dupe signal from there. There is some power(wattage) on that jack compared to the surface mount jacks and I put the level down to about 11-o'clock. haha The adapter plug is still in the deck, so I don't loose it
Anyway, engineers used to fry the m-106 headphone out running speakers off it.
