Hey, guys im new to this website and to recording at home and have a few issues in how to get the basics of recording.
My aim is to record an acoustic drum kit to make drum covers and post them on youtube. Im working with 4 mic's an interface and a copy of cubase 5.1.2.
My set up is,
Laptop spec : Compaq Cq61
Windows 7 sp1
processor: pentium dual core t4200
RAM : 3g
System type : 64-bit
Audio interface : Akai EIE pro
Snare mic : sure sm57
Base mic : AKG D112
Overheads : SE 0022 A
Software : Cubase 5.1.2
Amp/speakers : Yamaha RX-V590RDS
2 x Big speakers (very old but best things ive ever heard!)
Now i have all the equipment plugged in, each microphone pluged into the 4 ports on the akai pro and the akai connected to my laptop. The correct drivers are installed and cubase updates installed.
With cubase loaded and the 'VTS'' arranged with 4 mono inputs and the 'device steup' hooked up to Akai EIE Pro ASIO DRIVER
it is seeing 4 in and 4 out (as it should do im guessing?) now ive checked all this and im thinking its right, when i come to the main screen of my new project i cant work out how to get the 4 mics to record individual tracks 1 for each mic.
Does anyone know where im going wrong or what im just simply not doing?
hope you can help, cheers lew
