I have a very small project studio with a Delta-66/OMNI running into a PC with Logic Audio Platinum v.5.5.

I have been having problems mixing in this little closet that I call a studio. My monitoring system consists of a pair of SONY 7509 and a pair of BeyerDynamic DT 990 Pros. Both of these being great headphones... but they are still just headphones.

I have a friend that works for a film station in post production and they have a full on G4, ProTools with ProControl control surface, a list of plug ins as long as your leg, perfect room acoustics and a Genelec monitoring system.

After 11:00 at night the studio is open and he said that I could come in and mix anytime I wanted to until 8:00 the next morning when everyone arrives again. That is a great oppertunity for me to gain actual experience in an acoustic environment other than this closet with a set of canes on my ears.

However, I have no idea how to go about preparing my tracks to be imported into a new ProTools session. Is it even possible to import tracks made in Logic into ProTools? I know that I cannot import the Logic Audio SONG with all it's placement cues, temp changes, etc. but surely it is possoible to burn the individual wav files to CD and then somehow get them into ProTools. If so, could someone please tell me how to do this? What about bit rates? Should I burn the files as AUDIO files or as Data files? They are recorded at 24-bit 48kHz... how will those burn to a 16/44.1 CD-R? Would I have to reduce the resolution and S. rate to burn it to CD and then work in ProTools at 16/44.1?

Any scenerio help would be greatly appreciated here.

Thanks guys.

Export 24/48k broadcast wav files to a data CD. You will end up with a seperate file each track. Broadcast wav has time stamping on it and in PT they should be able to line it up pretty easily. If you can't do Bwav then just render the tracks to wav file but use the 'Fill Silence' option so all the tracks are continuous from the beginning and easy to line up.

Im quite sure Tex knows his stuff. But if it doesn't work out, I recently read on emagic's website that Logic is now supported by Pro Tools or visa versa and perhaps there tech. support will fill you in.
