I'm looking for a low-budget audio interface with atleast 2 inputs that will record in 24/96 from my usb slot and not the 16bit input on my laptop. i'm looking to spend 100 bucks at the most. maybe a little more. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks :)

oh yea... i have a mixer with 4 inputs, so if there's any other interface that i can plug my mixer into and still record 24/96 onto my laptop would be nice and wouldn't have to find an audio interface that has 2 inputs. the latter would be more nice though :) thanks!

I am not quite clear what you are going to accomplish but as far as I understood.. I suggest to configure it this way:

Instruments -----> 4 input mixer ----> single output from mixer goes to--->24/96 USB direct box --> USB slot in laptop

You only need one input to your USB direct box which consist of mixed signal from 4 input mixer. If you are looking for USB direct box, I have found one at around $100 dollar budget: AxePort Pro - 24-bit, 96kHz USB Direct Box

I hope this is helpful.

thank you both. i got the exact information i've been looking for and even got both questions answered :) i'm reading over the guide right now, and the usb device would be perfect. still gonna read the guide before i make any decisions. thanks again!
