Recording Help??????

I've been recording on my computer for about a year so far, and at first i didn't know what i was doing, then i would get my CD player and while the beats playing in my hear, i would record my rap on the computer, then i would stick the hear phones in the computer and Record over my voice to bring it out more, It made it seem like it was more in the song, So after i'd do that, i'd clean it up and add it to the song with the help of Cool Edit Pro, then add effects, Now i only have a cheap soundcard and a $20 mic, So people please DOWNLOAD my Track, and tell me if a studio mic and mic preamp will make it come out WAY better?????? Cuz i like this track..

Also what do i need to buy in order to record on, cuz i don't want to do it on my computer. Do i buy a mastering Processor.?????? Can i record while listening to the beat and JUST be able to record my Vocals. Then add it anywhere in the song, OR do i need something else. Please Help. Leave Email or even if u got MSN messenger so we can talk alot. Thanks

Download My Track and feel me in on if i can record better the n that with a better mic and mic preamp, or what else do i need????

I don't mean to be rude but seriously, that clip is truly terrible.

Before even worrying about gear, you've got to improve the performance issues.

Sauce, you need to back up and learn more about recording basics and then go from there.
 
Guys, I'm assuming hottsauce=Jack Ortman = some guy having fun with us by asking dumb questions, and seeing how many people he can get to trip over themselves and answer his joke questions. And it's classic stuff, too, by the way.

Re-read some of the stuff in this guy's post. It's obviously not serious . . .

Didn't he say he's sticking his "hear phones" in the computer? That's at least what I'm gathering.

I think my dog really liked that clip. She's a big fan now.

She hasn't stopped howling since I played it.

It got a real reaction out of my plants, too. They're all bowing in respect (or maybe they're wilted -- I can't tell).

That sucked!! You ever watch American Idol with that guy from the Atlanta area singing "Like A Virgin"???

You beat him out. For the worst singer award. You can't really be serious about that clip being "good." Sorry dude, but someone's gotta stop ya before you hurt yourself.
 
I think you need to upgrade your CD player. If the quality of the "input" is weak, then the whole chain will suffer. After that, I suggest some new headphones. Try to buy quality stuff please. Only then will you be able to "rap" with the big boys.

Quality of the CD Player, what r u talking about, When I Record i don't wanna do it with the beat playing in the BACKGROUND, SO i use my cd player to listen to the beat while i record on the computer. R ya'll even listening? Not One PERSON answered my question, come on now, somebody.

I am being serious. You should package the song as is and shop around for a recording deal. If the White Stripes can do it, so can you.

I forgot to answer your question, You need to get :
1. The "Neumannizer Platinum PRO" mic modeler. This is some kickass software that will turn your $20 mic into a U-87, U-47 etc. Better than spending the money on a new mic.
2. Get the "Soundscape Bitbucket Gold 9.72" This software will upgrade you crappy soundcard to a worldclass soundcard. It will load your wavetables with 128 bit/19.8Mhz samples.
These upgrades will cost around $99.00 as a package. You can buy them at your local Guitar Center. You have to really bug the salesman as these upgrades are "for PRO use only".

With these modest upgrades, you will sound like a pro studio, only better. Like "Abby Road in a Box".
