Hi, Im really new to the recording world, but I would like to find a way to get a mixer with a built in HD (or if not, I could get a new HD in my computer) with the ability to connect to my computer, with 4 or 8 channels (at least), no need for a burner, I just want to record then transfer the data and mix on my computer, or just seamlessly transfer to my computer.

Just get a external HD and use your pc to record.

korg has a new digital mixer/ hd recorder the D888 http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?a_prod_no=D888&category_id=3
or just get an xtrnl hd and use pc as previously mentioned.

Exactly. Mackie 1202 VLZ mixer, get an external HD, and connect with something like the delta 88 or 1010. Good luck!
