Hi guyes, I just wanna be able to record my music on the computer so it sounds decent. I just want to record guitar, bass, and vocals.

Right now I just have my guitar/bass/mic plugged into the amp and a cord going from the headphones plug in the amp to the line in (via adapter) into the soundcard (Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1) and I bought SoundForge 6.0, but the recordings sound pretty crappy. It doesn't have to sound real good or anything, I am just looking to record some of my songs so I have them down in an MP3. What do you reccommend I buy equipment wise to help? Or does anyone have any suggestions on different software to use? I'm new with this home recording stuff so I'm pretty confused.

Thanks

You won't get far with the stock soundcard/mic input. Either this or this would be a mega step up. As far as software goes, I use Tracktion and you can download a demo version of it here. If you like it as much as I do, buy it here.
