Recording Headphones - Rap

Be sure to *search* this site for previous threads--lots has been written about phones, including all the models mentioned. After buying and trying 6 popular makes/models this year. I kept the Senn 280s: although all the phones were decent, the Senns were the clear winner in my AB tests that focused on price ($100 range), comfort, isolation, and especially sound. Everyone has different tastes, though, so be sure to run your own comparisons in a shop or at home.

Good luck,

J.

well, if you are only using them for monitoring and not for tracking vocals,

you should check out the grado hr-80s...

they are exaggerated in some ways, just like most headphones. but between those and my little genelecs i have learned to deal.

they have a nice top and bottom. both a little exaggerated, but not as bad as the other sub $100 headphones.

plus they are a million times cooler looking and are hand-assembled in brooklyn.

look on the web. they go for $79-$85 bucks.
