quick question to all the experts.

does anyone know of a product that has 24 actual tracks to record on? not talking about software, talking about a recording device like the Tascam DP-24 but actually has separate 24 tracks you can record on.

I appreciate any feedback on products I can't find..

Thanks

Gary

or do you mean to record 24 inputs simultaneously? I'm thinking that can get expensive.

Maybe 3 of those Steinberg MR816's. 8 mic inputs each and they are stackable via ADAT connections.

But wow, who needs 24 simultaneous inputs??

Alesis HD24, I owned one for years, great disk based ADAT recorder. They don't make the HD24 any longer but you can find them on eBay. Also JoeCo Blackbox is a 1U 24 track, never used it. Best of luck.

Tascam mx2424 that has the AD/DA card fitted, this will give you 24 tracks of line level inputs and 24 tracks of line outs. I use 2 of them.

Who needs 24 inputs, well live location band recording, live tracking bands in the studio, theres 2 reasons.

If you have the cash have a look at the Tascam X-48 with the AD/DA card(s) 24 or 48 tracks at once. There is a mk2 so the mk1 is selling cheaper.

Cheers

Alan.
