Hi.
I have a question about recording guitars/vocals on a computer.
I've got some sort of decent Sony mic, but the thing is it's a computer mic and not a "real one". I'm wondering, is it possible to get decent guitar sounds recorded with this. I don't[/] have the money to buy pre-amps and $200 microphones (at least not yet) so please don't suggest that. I've got a 75W Marshall amp and as you may know micing it with a computer mic.. well the results are not great. Any suggestions on how to improve the sound? I have got programs to edit the sound, after a lot of tweaking it becomes listenable but it takes a lot of effort. What about a better yet cheap mic like a Shure or something? What would I need to do to plug that into my SoundBlaster Live?
And what can I do to capture the sound better when I'm micing the amp? I have to play it insanely loud
because 1. I know very little about recording 2. the amp is pretty big.
I don't need professional stuff, nor a "professional sound", just something a little better.
Any help would be appreciated.
