hi my name is jeff and i love this
site its good too see musiclovers that helps each other
well i have a little bit of a question
i have read a lot af answers/questions on this site
but it still not all clear for me
the thing is , I want to record guitar in my computer
i own a pII 350 with sblive! card and a Korg AX1000G multieffect
i used to record to de mic in of de sblive
with the following : guitar -> korg ax1000g -> mic in
i never was really satisfied by the sound of it
and now i read that u never must record to a mic in
but u must always choose for a line in
but when i do that the sound is too soft
do i need a direct box or something like that?
or is there another solution and what about
the cabinet simulator on the Korg AX1000g
thanx

We have used a similar setup, guitar>DOD effects pedal>amp then from amp line out directly into SBLive line in and had no problems with levels.

Question:

Does the Korg AX1000g (i'm not familiar with this make) have a level control for the line out? If it does, try increasing the output of the Korg to get sufficient levels. Beware of clipping the sound though!

Have you tried going from the Korg to your Guitar amp and from the amp's line-out to the SBLive?

PS:

The cabinet simulator, if it is the same as other effect pedals, is merely an attempt to simulate the various Guitar Amplifier Cabinet sounds like bigger, smaller speakers or specific amp makes like Marshall etc.. I.e the sound produced by the amp's case or box. IT DOES NOT WORK!!

thank u for your help and info but
my amp doesnt have a line out
yes ,i know its stupid
so im tapping the signal from the korg output
that normally goes into my amp.
to the mic in of sblive
i,ve tryd too use the headphones output into
the line in of sblive and the signals
volume is good but it sounds so unnatural
i think it got something to do with
low and high signals something with impedance??
and im not sure if a direct box helps me
too change this signal mic\low too a
line in\high?
