Recording from console or cassette player onto PC

I have made some dance music on my Playstation console and was wondering how to get this music saved on the PC so that I can send it to a friend via the internet.
I have taped the music onto a cassette tape so If I could get a cassette player connected to the PC somehow that could be just as good. I want to avoid using a microphone to record onto the pc as this will give poor sound quality.
If you can help me solve this problem in any way, I will be very grateful!

Go to Radio Shack and get your self a cable that is a stereo mini connector on one end (same type that the headphones on a walkman uses) to two RCAs at the other end. Connect the RCAs to the line outputs on the cassette deck and the other end to the line input on the sound card. You'll need some recording software in the computer and some software that'll make an MP3 as well. If your sound card has a line in, the recording/MP3 software shouldn't be too expensive (SoundForge XP is about40 or so).

If you have an AUX in, use that. If you're not getting a signal, make sure both your soundcard settings and Windows settings are right (they're independent of each other). Some games/applications will screw with these settings, so try and make pre-sets or remember them.

if u want the best sound...forget the tape player and just run the audio out of the console.
