For most of you this question is probably a piece of cake but since I'am a complete audio/recording dumb... I turn to you guys for help.

I would like to make a direct recording from my computer to an external c/d dual deck cd recorder(KLHIIIII-CDR2000).So how in the world do I set up my equipment ...

1) computer sound card has the flwg. recording options :
a) SPDF In
b) TV Tuner
c) Front Line in
d) Line In
e) Mic

I suppose I have to start with selecting one of these options to define my output.I know its probably not Mic. but which one is it e.g. I have no clue what the difference is between Front Line and Line In.

2) front of computer gives me the possibility to plug in on Aux In.

3) Recorder came with 1 cable (red/white), plug-in options at the back are :

Analog

a) dual play/mode only R-L
b) cd player/ recorder R-L
c) cd recorder R-L

By now some of you probabaly already fell a sleep but for the ones who stayed awake , please help me out here what do I have to do . I tried every option available but sofar my recorder does not recognize the output from my computer(a radio program through Real Player).

thank you for your time and help.

Well, first off .... you will not be using any of the recording inputs of the soundcard. However, you will need to use the Line Out of the soundcard connected to one of the Record In's of the CD recorder.
If the Line out of the soundcard is an 1/8" stereo jack and the inputs of the CD recorder are Right and Left RCA, you'll need a cable such as this one.

yeah, I purchased a sony cd-r recorder to track live with room mics->preamp->soundcard->digital out from sound card->digital in on cd-recorder.

Actually, I havent gotten it to work yet. It was driving me crazy because I couldnt seem to get it hooked up right. Then I tried recording cd to cd and realized the problem wasn't that I was hooking it up wrong, but that the recorder doesnt work.
