Can someone enlighten me on a simple way to take a track I've recorded on my BR-532, and copy it as a .wav or .mp3 or whatever onto my computer, so I can burn it onto a CD?

thanks in advance...!

You need recording software on your comp. Hook up the multi to the sound card on your comp and record.

Do you have a SmartMedia reader?

You don't have to rerecord it on your PC with any sound recording software if you have a SmartMedia reader for your PC, some software that can use two wave files as left and right stereo halves, and the BOSS Wave Converter software for the 532. This software is available on the Roland web site in the support downloads section. (www.rolandus.com)

Copy the files to the PC. Convert the tracks (assuming you've mixed down to two tracks, right?) to waves. Use your CD burner software to get the two wave files into one stereo track, and burn the full stereo wave to CD.

Thanks dstewart!

What is the reason for needing to mix down to two tracks? The converter program I got from the boss site allows you to DL all four tracks, and it converts it into a .wav file for you...I only had two tracks when I tried it the first time - but I'll be using more than that when I actually record songs...

mixdown

You don't have to have only two tracks, but if you want to take four tracks, THEN you'll need some kind of mixing software on your computer, so you can mix down to a stereo wave file. You can do this on your BR-532, or on your PC.

Also, I think that for some reason the BR-532 software will only export 2 tracks to WAV at a time. So you'd have to run your song through as many times as needed to get the requisite number of tracks, I guess.
