Hi, All!

Has anyone else here tried recording electric guitar tracks using nothing more than a POD and an Echo MIA card? For some reason, I always get very weak sounding guitar tracks. I've tried running the tracks through some EQ software such as BlueLine's, but it still doesn't sound that great.

I'm curious as to how some of the rest of you might be doing this. Maybe some suggestions on techniques. Thanks!

Use less Distortion on your POD!!! (thought id throw that out there first)

You might try some compression on that POD, and emphasize more of the EQ in the mids and not so much highs (cut lows). Any Rhythm guitar should be double tracked (either naturally or artificially ala copy/paste + 2-5 ms) and then EQ these tracks to compliment eachother and the mix.

You might also try some VST speaker simulators/impulses. Antares Mic Modeler and "TUBE" can do some neat things too.

Are you going stereo out of the Pod? If not, make sure you're plugged into the left output of the Pod.
