Recording duet singing

I enjoy singing duets with a friend. We would like to record some of our songs on the computer. Could someone tell me what software/hardware we would need to accomplish this? We do some a cappella singing, but we would like to be able to accompany ourselves on acoustic guitar, fiddle, & banjo. Thank you for any guidance you can provide. Zola

Oh Zola - how long is a piece of string...I suggest you do a few searches of this site and start to learn the terms and jargon spoken. Then you can start working out how into it you want to get.
