i have a Behringer xenyx1002b, Tascam usb-100, Acid8, toshiba satelilite laptop and a headache from lack of experience in recording drums without a 4 track. Latency seems to be my issue besides my lack of experience and Homer Simpsonesque walnut size brain.
1 i record drums and they are delayed in acid
2 i get echo from tascam when on computer(balance)
3 i have manipulated every which way from sunday but i cant get playback while recording to a guitar part, without echo and problem number 1
I am not sure what is wrong.

this is where the walnut size brain comes in. to me this all new and i dont know one driver from another. please enlighten me.

I'm no expert as I don't use interfaces, but no-one else appears to be around at the moment - one of the standard replies round here for latency issues is to install the ASIO4ALL driver. Do some Googling around that term and you'll learn a bunch of stuff and also find out where to download it and how to install it...

It's what Lisa would do....

I know this isn't an answer to your question but I can't believe latentcy is still such an issue. Now I primarily track to an HD24 so no latentcy issues there but I also track to computer too and my computer is OLD (PIII 500MHz running 98SE) and while there's percievable latentcy, it ain't that bad at all. It seems that with new computers that are all about 8 times faster than mine there should next to no latentcy. I just don't get it.

yeah i tried to download from asio4all and the instructions are so vague or im just a numbskull. TR the latency is obscene and truly frustrating. im outta my mind with this and i am ready to purchase a asio from cnet. after buying the usb100, it knida sucks.

Bump.... anyone help this guy... I'm out of suggestions for latency.

Have you actually worked out the ASIO4ALL driver thing yet, OP?

i got it figured out a way to reduce the output powert it resolved. thanks for your help

I got it figured out and that problem was resolved. Asio4all worked out. Thanks
