Hi, so I'm getting into recording and am looking at usb interfaces, but I took a quick peek at drum mics and theyre pretty cheap!
So a few questions!

Good cheap drum mics? [I know it sounds weird haha]

Either a cheap usb interface that can handle 4 mic inputs, or a cheaper solution? To get them to usb? [Ive heard of like xlr to usb converters?]

Thanks so much!

If I'm reading your question right you are wanting some good and cheap drum mics. I think the answer would be cad. You can get a 4 piece set for 100.00 or a 7 for about 140.00. They work well for the price range. As far as that interface stuff goes, I don't know. I use an analog set up.

The CAD condensors are OK for overheads (and you'll at least two of those), but for snare and toms, you cant beat SM57s @ $99 each. And for your kick, go with a Beta 52A or D112.

My .02

If you're serious about recording as a hobby, I'd save up and invest in single quality dynamics and a nice matched pair of condensers.

Stay away from the prepackaged kits.

Good advice! You can get good sounding drums with just 3 mics. Even a set of cheap MXL 603 and a D6 (or D112) on the kick would be much better (IMO)than a pre packaged mic kit.

Low end kits yes. But there are some good kits out there as well.

Beyerdynamic and Electro Voice come to mind.

You get what you pay for in the end
