ok this is how im thinkin about recording my drums...im going to get 2 nady DM70s (dynamic mics) and place one on the left and one on the right in front of the set, now i have a pretty big set (2 toms, 2 floor toms, 2 snares, 1 bass, 3 crashes, one china, one ride, one splash, one hi hat) and im also going to get the nady DM80 for the bass drum. will that sound good at all or will it be total mush? that is how my friends did it but they put the mics behind the kit on each sides with the bass mic. and im getting 2 small diaphram mics for acoustic guitar and stuff, so would that work for over head mics for cymbals?

play with it! just cause it works for your friend, it might not work for you. room acoustics, the drums themselves, blah blah are all different.
