RECORDING CD-R to MD - SCMS

Hi

I have put together my own audio cd with mp3's on using nero burning rom. I want to record this to MD so I can listen to it on my personal MD player.

When I put the audio cd into my hi-fi to record to MD, it goes pear-shaped and displays 'SCMS'. I have discovered that I cannot copy digital to digital or something.

Can I disable SCMS?

Not with consumer-oriented digital gear you can't..... it's defeatable on pro gear....

What you can do is buy a digital-format converter such as M-Audio's CO3 -- you don't need to convert anything but it does allow ignoring the copy-bit... it's got a $350 price tag though...
