Recording bass from the preamp out on a head?

Hello,

My bass player recently purchased an Ampeg B-2R bass head. The head has a xlr preamp out on the back. Soon we are going to be recording a demo, would you recommend setting all the EQ the way he wants it then just running the preamp out on the head directly into my computer soundcard?

Dude I have done that my self and I personally think that it gets a very clean sound, but be careful when you mix it all because the sound might wash out the other tracks.
