Recording audio

I´ve tried recording just two channels, with one guitar and one for vocals (not at the same time). But when I listen to the 2nd channel (vocals), the guitar is recorded in there (and the damn metronome as well). How can I do to just get the vocals on the second and the guitar at the first channel?
Also I would like to use the metronome without it getting recorded.
Have had this problem forever, any help appreciated.

What soundcard and Audio SW are you using? It's probably just a simple setting hidden in some menu.

I´ve got a SB Live Platinum and running Cubase VST 24. Any idea what it could be?
