Recording audio from a coaxial Cable-TV cable

is there a way? I have my cable signal coming from the wall thru a typical coax cable. It then goes into my VCR, which is mono (and that's why I don't use the Audio out from it, I need stereo). Then it has a free coaxial out.
I want to record the audio from that coax out, into a line in device. Should I just solder one of those antenna adapters to a couple of RCA? Or will I have impedance/voltage issues?

That will not work at all my friend. The coax out is RF (Radio Frequency). Your recorder won't know what to do with it.
 
You'll need either a VCR or a cable converter to function as a demodulator, that is to take the RF TV channel and demodulate it to baseband audio and video. If you need stereo audio you'll need a stereo demod (a stereo VCR, a cable converter with stereo line level outputs or a VHF demodulator). Of course it'll only be stereo when demoded if it's broadcast in stereo to begin with.
 
thanks Rat. I was asking cause I remember when I was a kid I connected that same cable to the FM radio and it worked, and I could even get some low frequency tv channels on the radio. But I guess I can't do much without a tuner.

Keep in mind that the signal I am using is post tuner (vcr out), and not the one that comes directly from the wall.

When the VCR is powered up and in playback or tuner mode, the coaxial output will be on what ever channel VCRs playback on in Argentina. Here in the states its NTSC channels 3 or 4, switchable on the VCR. When the VCR is bypassed, it passes the full system channel load. You'd still need a tuner to demodulate to baseband.
 
Some cable systems do transmit fm radio. Do they have digital cable in Argentina? If so, that would be your best bet, to use the digital out on a digital decoder.
 
I don't think this is digital cable.
But as long as I remember, you could plug the TV cable right into the radio tuner and have a hell of an fm signal.
(sometimes the frequencies became a little offset, like 106.3 was 106.1, etc... always wonder why)

You can do that. The radio is a demodulator taking the RF and demoding to baseband audio. If the audio carrier you're interested in is within the FM band, a stereo tuner will demod it. Trust me on this one my friend. This is what I do for a day job for the last 22 years.
 
There are tv video cards too. Just find one that accepts coax and outputs stereo.
