Recording advise required

Hi guys,

Can you advise on how best to record in Bass samples to use in Halion within Nuendo.
I will be using them for blues and I find I cannot get the fullness in the sample libraries there are out there. I will be micing up a Ashdown cab with a Sure SM57. Equipment I have:
Aardvark Direct Pro Q10, RNC and DAW.

I am guessing with 24 bit I don't need to compress so I can just record in the bass and then edit it and normalise it in Wavelab.

Expert advice much appreciated,

I'd try running direct and micing the cab, blended together just right will give you the fullness you desire!
