recording acoustic guitar

Are you using a transformerless setup? Could adding a transformer in the line , help? To meet specifications, many compressors and microphones removed them. To match modern higher ceilings and noise requirements.

The older or more expensive compressors had them, and when turned up had a warmth to them.
Not sure what you mean by using a 'transformer' or the rest of your comment. Transformers, in the electric world, transform a higher voltage into a lower one.
My guitar (for the DI) was plugged directly into the interface.

no idea what I was on about.

Transformers? In the DBX 166/266/66 manual, there is a listing for a transformer as an optional add-on for the compressor. On rack boxes with a 'engage transformer' switch usually turns on some warmth.
