I need to get the true sound of my tube amp on a websight, and Suprize! I am very limited moneywise. I have a computer that does 7200 rpm processing. here are the 3 routes I was thinking of going.

1. Tascam us-122 ($199)(using software that comes with it) and A behringer Vamp II ($99)to have fun with later, and a sure sm57 mic.

2. E-MU 0404 card ($99) that comes with cubase, and a tube mic pre amp ($99) and a sure sm57 mic ( and the Vamp)

3. E-MU 0404 card ($99) that comes with cubase, and a Eurotrack ub 122fx-pro mixer ($179) has effects, but how good? And the Sure sm57

well there are my choices, any imput would be appriciated. thanx.

It's website, not websight. And that's Shure SM-57, not Sure. There's no such thing as 7200 rpm processing; you must mean your hard drive's rotational speed is 7200 rpm.

Now what was the question again?

Those options will all be fairly equivalent; they should all offer reasonably decent and comparable mic pres.

How many RAMS does your computer have?

Do you have a 24 bit/44.1 modem or use a DSP connection?

Does your current soundcards have a DIF/SP converter on it?

Can your hard drive power a 48v mic?

We need to have some system info if you want answers!

I'm not much of a computer guru, I'll look in compaq manual and get back to ya.

Shurley you jest.

if you get the tascam you are going to want new software real quick, the bundled stuff is OK to start on but it begins to limit you pretty fast
