Say Something Smart!
Okay, the title may have confused you...here's my situation:
I'd like to use my MiniDisc Recorder to record some stuff, in Stereo. I have a Delta 44 hooked up to my PC, so I can only record in Mono.
Is there any way I can split the Stereo playback into L and R sources to input to my Delta? Is this possible?

Thanks.

I have never used a minidisc recorder so I am not sure if you can use a digital connection or not. If you can't why not use a "y-adaptor" that is available from any Radio Shack?

Maybe i'm way off base...

Yeah, I checked out the Shack...
All they seemed to have was 1 mono [source] to two mono outputs...

I want it to accept stereo, and split it into L and R outputs...

Thanks, though. :)

Radio Shack has splitters (Not Y-cables, that's a different thing) that will take your 1/8" stereo miniplug and output it to two RCA jacks. That's the one you want.

I use one to go from the output of my internal soundcard to the tape-ins on my mixer.

Excellent!
But, then, how do I get the two sources back to my soundcard.
I have a Yamaha MG12/4 which will accept the RCA inputs. Or, is there an RCA -> 1/4" adapter I can use to plug it directly into my Delta?

Thanks Tim!! :D

Okay, forget all that -- I remembered that I have one of those Y-Splitters lying around!

Now here's my problem:
I have the MiniDisc running to the two RCA Jacks on my MG12/4 Mixer -- Channels 9/10. Now, how do I output it to my Delta? Which outputs do I plug into the back of the mixer?

Thanks!

Alllright...I figured it out...
So much for asking questions...right?

Sorry guys!

I tapped into the Control Room outs [L/R!] to get my two mono outputs.

:D

Why not just use the main outs?

They didn't seem to be working for me.
I'll try again later, I may have missed something last nite.
