Recording a Guild Jumbo

I just recently bought a Guild JF4NT jumbo guitar, and was wondering if anyone could advise the best way to mic it. I have two shure sm57's to use, and i'm recording with an ISIS card.

any suggestions?

A suggestion of a general nature: you paid good money for a good guitar,do it justice within your means by getting a condenser mic (or 2) to record it.Condensers are more sensitive to small nuances in the sound and generally exhibit a cleaner,more extended response on the higher frequency range where those gorgeous harmonics reside.Dynamic mics like the 57 are usually better on louder sounds like electric guitar,drums,etc.There are some pretty good condensers(small diaphagm) on the market for not much more money that some dynamic types.Anyway,try pointing the mic slightly inclined towards the body of the guitar,at about the12th fret,about 6 to 9 inches away.This is one position that can yield a nice sound,but not the only one;experiment!Cheers!
 
Tapehead, and what kind of voices might that be? You dont own a rake by any chance? :D
 
Another trick you might try (with a condenser mic that is) have it pointing down over your shoulder about the same level as your "ear" with another mic 57 or another condenser at about the 12th fret, but experiment with what you got already that Guild is going to sound killer!

David, I'm nervous about putting a microphone close to my ear as it might pick up the voices in my head.
